My vacation to Barcelona offered me the chance to work with three more models.
I am always very greateful for each of these sessions, because apart from the art itself, they alway give me interesting experiences and teach valuable lessons for the next one.

Mel was the first of the three sessions in Spain… during the usual back-and-forth that I have with new models we quickly agreed on "paper crane" as a theme (she has a tattoo of a paper crane on the side of her chest).
So I immediately started preparation about this… first step was to make sure I would have a collection of paper cranes to use during the photo session. And that went through smoothlessly (I am useless at origami, so I delegated this part to an Etsy vendor, actually).

For the main writing (on her back) I opted for
折鶴は
紙に戻りて
眠りけり
(Paper cranes
have gone back
to sleep)
a perfectly appropriate Haiku by Nobuhiro Takahashi
This would then be completed by writing 折紙 (Origami) on her thigh.

The session was held in the same apartment she was sharing with Solana, at the time - and Sol actually helped me by taking most of the photos during the session itself.
