Pulp Krieg: Heroes - Dilettante

The Thin Man

Dilettante template

Of rich (often noble) birth, the dilettante main problem is to find something worthy of his attention and his remarkable resources. In the world of Pulps, adventuring and crime-fighting are usually the most popular way to spend their abundant free-time.
Thanks to the fact that they do not really need to work for a living, Dilettantes may accumulate a lot of useful skills, even if they usually prefer to dabble a little and rarely they have dedication to pursue higher levels of ability (a level of 2 would be ok for most of the skills they may care about... except perhaps Seduction).

The player should take some care in properly roleplaying this character. Fighting evil Nazi spies may be fun, but not if it routinely requires using sewers to gain access to their secret headquarters.

Variations

The Dilettante is the classical spoiled socialite. The proposed archetype is based on a wealthy playboy which likes to practice various sports (hence the combat skills) but is no match for a real fighter in any category.
An interesting twist is the daredevil media darling like Douglas Fairbanks Jr. Add 2-3 levels in theatrics, perhaps 2 in Acrobatics and you may get a fairly good action-oriented actor.
