Solitary, nocturnal animals, Raccoons
are good swimmers, good climbers, and gifted with an
adaptable, inquisitive and intelligent nature which could make
them great pets, but also great pests.
They are primarily carnivorous but are quite apt to adapt
to scavenging (especially near human settlements). They are
quite good at defending against predators, allegedly even by
luring hunting dogs to water and drown them.
