Evolved from solitary nocturnal predators, cats are
pretty good at fending for themselves, but tend to appreciate human company
and can be good (if sometimes too independent) pets.
As a rule, they do
not like to travel, even if exceptions (like a ship's cat) exist. Note that
even if they are quite intelligent, they tend to resist being trained for
any specific purpose.
